# Data & TikTok Shop permissions

Which TikTok Shop API permissions Tidecollab asks for, what each one is used for, and what we never do with your shop.

## How you connect

You connect a shop on TikTok's own authorization page, signed in to your TikTok Shop account. TikTok shows you the permissions requested and the shop they apply to. TikTok then gives Tidecollab an access token for that shop. We encrypt tokens before storing them, use them only from our server, and refresh them as TikTok requires. We never see or store your Seller Center password.

Status: we are completing TikTok Shop's partner review for creator collaboration access. Until it is approved, no live shop is connected and Tidecollab runs on a simulated TikTok Shop built from the official API specs.

## What we request, and why

TikTok groups these APIs under its affiliate and creator collaboration permissions. The exact permission names shown on TikTok's authorization screen are confirmed during partner review; TikTok's affiliate guide lists collaboration APIs under "Read Seller Affiliate Collaborations" and "Manage Seller Affiliate Collaboration". [Final scope names to be confirmed.]

## What we don't do

- We don't ask for Seller Center passwords or login codes, and we don't automate Seller Center screens.
- We don't change your product listings, prices, inventory or shop settings.
- We don't request buyer or order data today. Sales tracking on the [roadmap](https://tidecollab.com/roadmap) would need affiliate order data; this page will be updated before that is requested.
- Nothing is written to TikTok while an agent is in dry run.
- We don't show one brand's notes, lists, messages or sample decisions to another brand.

## Keeping and deleting data

Creator profile data from TikTok's marketplace is cached so searches stay fast and is refreshed when it is older than 24 hours on view. [Retention period for cached creator data, and how long workspace data is kept after you disconnect or close an account, to be confirmed.]

## Removing access

You can remove Tidecollab's authorization from TikTok Shop Seller Center. After that, Tidecollab can no longer read from or write to your shop. To delete your workspace data, email [hello@tidecollab.com](mailto:hello@tidecollab.com) .
